One of the reasons for the shift in attitude could be that many people find it less stressful shopping in a supermaket than in a high-fashion boutique.

This collection arises from the theme of “Outer Space” and it revolves around the idea of space exploration and the technology field related to space travel. Hybrid tailor pieces that conceptualize “space” into wearable garments are inspired from space-technology. Such as Astronaut suit and space shuttle. Pleats and folding details create shapes which have shown and hidden surfaces simultameously, representing our understanding of the universe. There are employed liberally to create shapes, volumes and silhouettes that are connected to space technology, creating an effortlessly futurisitic look.

These photographs were taken at the now defunct Quarry, I wanted to show the similiary of the raw denim and the quarry. Both are affected and shaped by their surroundings and activities. It’s evolution. The denim apparel used in this project was purchased mainly from thrift stores. Ashburn then cut, slashes, deconstructed, bleached, frayed, stained, faded and washed to achieve the distressed and unique look.
